Using a micro-ELISA technique, the serum specific IgG and IgM antibody of the EHF patients were measured sequencially as a part of a doubleblind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of ribavirin therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of EHF. The results showed a significant decrease of antibody levels in the ribavirin-treated group (p<0.001 in IgG, p<0.05 in IgM). Four varieties of citrus infected with Citrus Infectious Variegation Virus(CVV) were freed from the virus by shoot-tip grafting in vitro. The tests carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) were faster and more sensitive than those made by graft-inoculation to indicator plants. The survival rate of grafting was up to 85-90% if shoot-tip and cut of rootstock were treated with 6-benylaminopurine(BAP) or 2, 4-D before grafting.
Four strains of actinophages φSK1, φSK2, φSK3 and φSK4 were isolated from aberrant fermentation fluids of S. kanamyceticus obtained from the Fourth Pharmaceutical Factory in Chengdu. It was demonstrated that they differed from each other. but belonged to the same serological properties. They also showed some different characteristics from some other strains isolated in different areas in China and Japan.
The present paper deals with the phage technique to determine the Pseudomonas solanacearum bacteria quantitatively, Results show that mean recovery of pure bacteria cells was 81% at concentration of 10~3 colony formation unit(CFU)per ml of phage Zp-2 isolate. The optimun adsorption temperature of Zp-2 is 30℃. and optimun adsorption time is 30min. It is a high sensitive method for detecting Pseudomonas solanacearum.
